There are a few things that i think would improve the feel and function of the way outpost storage current works quite a lot.
Either ability to manually set stacking limits on a storage, or even better, per storage item limits built in. the reason behind my request might be surprising, but it's actually because of how the AI works right now. Basically, i want people to stop working on one thing and work on the next thing in their queue once the storages for the first thing fill up this becomes extremely important now that we have branching crafting trees. I dont want to make all my iron plates into steel bars, but i do want to make plates into bars once my storage fills up! Additionally, this gives a good reason to have more storage buildings for very large amounts of resources, and generally looks more realistic. It also helps mitigate what i call runaway resource flooding, where you get thousands upon thousands of resources, enough to buy out every shopkeeper in the game, just by leaving a few guys at your outpost to do their thing. Instead, a smart player will have them set to fill up the storages then man turrets to defend the hoard until the next trade caravan is ready for a trip to town.
Instead of tons of different storages you build, have a few sizes/shapes of storages, then let the player choose from a dropdown what kind of items he wants put in there. Instead of having 6 different buildables for "flat yellow bulk storage thing", have one, and a dropdown for each.
