Greetings

Suggestion; Add craftable picture frames of various sizes in-game. Add X folder to Kenshi so we can place X sized images in X format made by free online software like Gimp 2.

Result; We can put custom pictures of various sizes on the walls inside houses in-game. It would be awesome because we can make the images ourselves using free software. Or we could even screenshot our squad members then put their picture on the walls or screenshot the Kenshi landscape and make a nice picture.

Perhaps have a simple listing system so each crafted picture frame in-game placed on a wall corresponds to the associated numbered image in the X Kenshi Folder. For example;

Crafted Picture Frame 1 is associated to Image_1 in the X Kenshi Folder.

It would be up to the user to name the custom image with the (for example) correct reference number - image_1.

If done correctly once the picture frame is hung on a wall it displays the associated image. If Crafted Picture Frame 1 is destroyed in-game by the user image_1 in the X Kenshi Folder becomes idle and does nothing. The user will have to update the image reference number to use it in-game again. ie; Image_2 for Crafted Picture Frame 2

I mention this because if you had Crafted Picture Frame 1, Crafted Picture Frame 2 and Crafted Picture Frame 3 with associated image_1, image_2, image_3 but destroyed Crafted Picture Frame 1 in-game then made Crafted Picture Frame 4, it would not show Image_1, it would have to show Image_4. Therefore the user has to update the name of images used in-game.

That system could run into problems though,

Alternatively just allow us to craft picture frames and when clicked on it opens a box with numbers on it, select the number for the associated image to appear in-game. Such as pick number 1 and image_1 appears in the picture frame. That way we can craft as many picture frames as we like and use/re-use each image as we please provided we named them correctly in the X Folder containing the images. In theory it means one image, image_1 could be on several crafted picture frames at the same time.

I dont know, your the tech dudes, im just a gamer :)

Not something too complicated, seems user friendly and fun tbh.

Craftable Picture frames + Custom Pictures = Awesome!

Peace :D

The idea is nice, but i'm not sure the scale is right.

I mean, it's a great addition to some sandbox single-character survival first- \ third-person game, but Kenshi is half strategy with controls, camera and visual wall-cutting designed with RTS in mind.

Yeah, your right :) i was playing last night and thought the images would be so small it would be hard to see and then you have to line up the screen to see it.

Perhaps the principle would work with faction banners. Like have a character wear a crafted banner on a pole worn on the back like a backpack. That may also be too small but if the banner is large enough ... maybe.

Could have base flags on poles, id image that could possibly be large enough.

Custom faction banners and flags?. If no np.

peace :D

Banners and flags sounds very reasonable. Such things are usually made so they may be distinctible from afar, so if custom picture made accordingly - all should be fine :)

But in any case, those would be larger then most typical wall paintings.

Oh! Like the japanese war banners (nobori and sashimono).....Nice :)

Nobori are the big ones and Sashimono are the small ones that some soldiers used to wear in their backs to show their colours and for better indentification in the battlefield

I guess smaller banners may be wearable with small backpacks in the same slot, and larger could be held as a main weapon, and if dropped, would just stay vertically, as if they were shoved into the ground.
