I would love to see a feature if you hover over an item you are not wearing and the game highlights the stats in red if they are worse or green if they are better then the current item.
Colors or Arrows pointing up or down for better/worse.
Also, maybe even by how much better it is; the stat difference would show up next to the stat of the highlighted items to comparing items being worn.
The point of this would be too great not to have.
1. Faster looting
2. Noob friendly
3. Faster comparing
4. Faster sorting
5. Faster selling
Pretty much faster everything and it would help equip your people faster as well.
Yup Gotta go fast.
Better/Worse item info.

better does not always mean better for you.
like armours for instance, how would you define better? because it depends on the positives and negatives for each item that determines if its good or bad for you.
Plus depends on type, light or medium or heavy? granted everyone thinks heavier is better, problem is you have to be strong enough to use it effectively. or the negatives make it worse than wearing no armour at all.
same goes for weapons, as your skill in that weapon determines how good it is for you.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.

With knowing all that in mind then stat wise it would be "better".
It's up to you if you want to use light, med or hvy armor.
Same goes for weapons. Skill and item class does not matter here. I'm speaking about numbers and stats.
All other statistics are personal choice.

My opinion would be that item description is already loaded with info quite heavily, and extra colors and arrows would only unnecesarrily complicate it further. Besides, In many cases it will be information overload: for instance when you compare 2 identical items of diffirent grades, there're already no question about which is better.
Also, what's next? New-Fallout-style "container is (not)empty cuz i got psychic powers to see through things"?
Faster looting? I don't think so, after few days of gameplay you already know what's trash and what's not, you look at the item, it's grade, it's price, that's it.
For noobfriendly we need a nice updated tutorial (which already contains almost all information needed, and is pretty short)
Faster comparing - that, probably is true point. However, it'd maybe better to implement functionality to pin item description windows, to have several of them open at the same time if user so desire, so you could just move them together and compare items quicker.

Our criticism, truly, worth nothing, since we're not up to call whether the request will make it into the final build or any upcoming updates
Nor it's a vote of any kind, so we're just talking.
I really don't see the point, since i don't percept Kenshi as the kind of game you can or really should play fast
And yes, explanation of the damage\resistance mechanics in the tutorial would be great!

yea
about the only thing i agree on is a better tutorial. but that most likely won't come until the game is finished and all features are fully in.

Having context sensitive colors on item stats when you hover over them in your inventory is a very common feature in RPGs, because its a good idea, and these responses strike me as not understanding the suggestion. If the item has more cutting damage it would appear green, more weight would appear red, because less weight is better. Whether or not there are tradeoffs on the whole is unrelated to making specific numbers clearer to compare.
I don't even know what game this is from but it showed up in a quick google search.

Except nothing about Kenshi presently requires that much comparisonMattk50 wrote:Having context sensitive colors on item stats when you hover over them in your inventory is a very common feature in RPGs, because its a good idea, and these responses strike me as not understanding the suggestion. look at the item look at the Quality , and equip it if its what you like appearance wise...given that stats wise nothing makes that much of a difference.
in other games that have the comparisson list you have thousands of different stats that get boosted so you need to compare
Kenshi clothing doesn't give you much in the way of a bonus.
at most you get Stealth Effect, Athletic Effect, Combat speed effect, and combat skill bonus.
an those stats are pretty much effect to the equipment. they don't as far as i've seen change with the tier. there isn't really much reason for the 'comparison window.
there aren't 20 different skills that have extremely different effects.
and no class where you relay on specific stats.

Actually, Kenshi already has that, very handy when your a sneak thief with limited night time. though you do have to left click on the container in question.(thank you magic ability to freeze time)Sol Lignum wrote: ~snip~
