I would like to be able to "Specify" what is, or isn't stored in specific crates.
like for example i know we have a specific crate for each craftable -weapons-hemp-fabrics-armour etc. but
I think it would be better if we could simply 'choose' what goes in the container.
an leave the container without a specific item on its own.
this would allow us to organize and use teh storage containers aesthetically that we like. while still being able to sort an separate the things that we want.
Especially when it comes to weapons an armour i personally would prefer to be able to store specific swords an specific armour together without having other items stored with them
like a cabinet purely for Katana's purely for Wakizashi's Ninjatos etc.
Or Assassins Rag out fits stored together or Body Wraps , Sandals, Hats. all in their own storage.
basically just more ways to diversify an store things to help be more organized.
i mean i could do this on my own but the NPC currently don't specifically drop each weapon into separate cabinets. they tend to drop them into a single cabinet till its filled with a mix of items.
which isn't inherently bad but for someone who wants to be fairly more organized it can be a little annoying.
It'd also be nice if they would store the item with space efficency in mind. so that when you open the cabinet you don't see things all jumbled up. instead their neatly placed an lined up in the container.
Also being able to rotate items when/as we put them into storage would be nice to.
but overall being able to
tell the NPC where to put specific items when there done would be nice. maybe like a list on the side of the inventory to tick what is allowed to be stored there, an perhaps who is allowed to take/put items in the cabinet. so if your wanting to stock pile some food you can tell the person who makes the food to put the stuff you don't want eaten into one container. an the stuff you want people to eat into another.
maybe a way to put a percent of produced items into each crate
like 20% of the bread goes into a container to stockpile and the remaining 80% go to be eaten
so every time the NPC makes bread 1 out of every 5 will go into storage. while the others get eaten or something like that.

good idea, it would be nice to have the weapon types sorted into there own containers, or sets of items.
Love the idea. Let us sort how we like. The question is the GUI. Pull down menu, or arrows? Possibly it won't have entries for things we've never acquired.
I'm not sure how much work that is to adjust the AI to find the right containers. Instead of just looking for certain types, they'd be checking attributes.

could simply have them look for the 'valid' crate but i think it would also be nice, an add a bit more immersion if(even if not efficent) characters get lost on occassion trying to find the right container - like if it moves, have them go to the old one , realize they aren't supposed to use it an have to find the new one.bk3000 wrote:Love the idea. could add slightly more foot traffic around your town/settlement to make it look a bit more a live.
i was thinking more of a list of check boxes by item type, but drop down boxes might help perhaps the check boxes could be the general item then a drop box for the items in that category to help narrow it down more if you wish.
that way you can have a weapon box of "throw all weapons in here" or "Throw only the specified weapon(s) in here".
i don't know how much work it would do but i it might be worth it.
