if an enemy is trying to heal an enemy faction, mainly his squad members, your guys would attack them and not let them heal. I already commanded them to attack the target, why should i have to attack him again as soon as he gets up to heal his buddies? You could even put this on the AI tab for players who want the enemy to heal.

Neat idea, but I think it would result in attacking enemies you no longer care about.

If you're fighting in your base, knocking a recovered medic out before they bandage helps keep enemy squads from slowly getting up. But in that situation, you could loot the unconscious enemies to make them powerless when they recover, or use a corpse furnace to permanently stop them.

If you're fighting in a faction settlement, it might cause you to attack prisoners or other factions that you don't want to go to war with. Not to mention, reviving enemies helps to keep the guards preoccupied...

If you're fighting out in the wilderness, you typically loot enemies to de-power them, or just move on while they're still unconscious. In fact, most times I need to leave without getting in another fight, because otherwise additional enemy patrols would catch and kill me.

I see where you're coming from, I just don't think there's much use for it.

Pretty much what Jay said.

Plus, this is not the first time i see such post, and i'll say again, that i can't see the point in adding this behaviour. While i can understand the need of basic self-defence rule, i don't think any other attacking rule is needed, because everything else is up to the player to decide.

Maybe you have nothing against guys you've just beat once you've beat them, maybe you want that particular squadmate to be robbed for RP purposes or because you just hate them, maybe you want your squadmate to BE carried away by cannibals, so they'd act as a decoy, so you could trace them all the way to their base and wipe it clean, and maybe, maybe, maybe.

I mean, if AI would manage all the squad actions, what would you do in that particular game, where squad control is supposed to play a big role? Build them a house with stuff and watch they wash their hands before going to sleep?

Turn NPC squad and number of people to max with 200 of your own squad members and let's see how "fun" it is to individually attack each enemy when they're trying to heal their squad. Also if you don't like it you don't have to turn it on in the AI panel....

Or you know, don't get annoyed that the game breaks when you are modding it too far outside intended parameters.

Even without mods it gets annoying. You can turn up the population without a mod.

True, but hold rightclick > Attack All usually solves such problems. Though usually I prefer if they spend times patching their mates up instead of assisting their buds. Personal preference I guess.

I guess you get what you get when tweaking game parameters to either side from the intended middle. In this case, battles so long that some enemies have enough time to get up and heal their mates. I just can't see the issue here, therefore I don't understand the need of adding other AI behaviours to player squad. I also fail to see why it is a problem to pause from time to time, and sending one from your mob to attack the enemy healer, again, considering the game is tweaked above intended parameters.

And as always, anyway, it's not our call to make, so maybe devs will listen to you and find your idea good, interesting and time-worthy :)
