Could we have an arrow added to the build cursor to show us what direction is the "Front" of sitting objects?
I love the seats and use them all the time, but I tend to have everyone looking at walls and have to go back and reorient them later.
If we could see the correct direction when placing them it would be very helpful.

I second that, would be awesome.
However, i think there's no direction on sitting objects at all, and it's either choosen randomly, or character is faced towards the center of a nearest table.

Interesting. Most of my stools are set near tables, and no matter how i rotate them, characters are always sitting towards the center of a table.

No there is a front and a back to all the sitting objects, when I place them they all face one direction. And if I turn the stool or sitting pad once it's placed they will face the new direction. I can make the sit in circles, or along walls, they don't automatically turn to face anything. You can even see it in some of the bars in towns. The chairs have them turned to the side instead of facing the bar. Might be one of the updates turned on the switch that you were talking about.
We just need to have some indication of what the initial direction is, so I don't have to wait till someone sits down to figure out which way they are facing.

Easy check. Build a table, put some stools around it, say, 1 for each narrow side, and thre for each long side, but do not turn them, just stump them there. Then make some of your guys sit on them. And you'll see that they 're all facing the center of a table.

Something like this. And it's been this way for a while. I've got a bar-like building on my outpost, and i've rebuilt it couple of time, stamping stools and tables every time, and no matter how i rotate stools, as long as it's near the table, characters will always sit towards the center of a table.
Then, i've got this and similar guys:

Not sure what they're facing, maybe rotation starting to play its role in such case.
But anyway, we need those directional arrows if they're relevant
UPD:
Recently i've performed a little test. I took the guy from the last screenshot off the stool, dismantled it, and built another one, but rotated it 90 degrees. It had no effect, guy sat and faced the exact same direction he's been facing before. Maybe not all sitting objects are like this, but stools definitely are.
yup turns out both are true. I took a screen shot but now can't find it.
In one building I put a table and every one turned and faced the table. I the building next to it there is no table and they face the way the stools are oriented. I was even able to create an outdoor campfire area with sitting boxes and a when I put the camp fire near it they all turned to face it. While people in the near by buildings ignored it and faced the way I had oriented the chairs.
So Yeah when you are using a table they work great. When your not, we could use a direction indicator.

Indeed, i never denied that
Now the question is, why stools aren't changing directions when no tables are around, in my game. They're probably still picking something. Gonna try an empty building or outdoors, next time i'm at it.
