I have a base near the shrieking forest. The steps are constantly covered with corpses. Now I have a cannibal raid show up and the helpful little buggers start cleaning up tons of the shriekers on the steps. It got me thinking, rather then shooting them, I should let them take um, and then they would be thankful and leave me alone.
Following that train of thought I was wondering if I put some cannibal poles out in front of the walls and stake out some of the bandits who harass me, wouldn't it be great if the cannibals took them and left peacefully?
Of course I can see how this would attract more cannibal bands to my gates looking for a free meal, so keeping those poles stocked might become an Issue, but maybe they would be just as happy with snacks, like a box full of legs and arms?

Could you imagine piranhas suddenly stop eating a person if they feeds them constantly? Cannibals appear to be a bunch of mindless savages, who sees you only as prey. They are unable to communicate in any comprehensible manner (at least for now), nor to think big. No love, no grief, no mercy.

Maybe because they don't think big, they could do as the thread suggested. "I am hungry, so I look for food". If they're fed, they get the food and leave. If not, they continue and raid.

Would be awesome if cannibal aggression was based on their hunger level. If you happen to see a group of them out on your travels, they may pass you by if your lucky enough that they have already fed.
I like the idea of not knowing for sure whether something will be hostile (even though with the above example you could click on them to see if they are hungry I guess).
