Cut up map for crappy pcs

Would be nice if you could cut the map into 1/4 for those average pcs out there. You'd have to have a way to acquire research books etc though, since much less ruins.

map size isn't the issue. its the background and NPCs and a bunch of other things.
Kenshi has a ton going on under the hood.
best lower your settings, or if can afford to. upgrade your computer. if you can.

I have a crappy hard drive, if i swap to ssd will it fix this? Graphics don't seem to be any issue.

it will help, but it wont fix the issue.
you will just have a faster running potato for a computer.

Turn down the population and squad size sliders so you have fewer NPCs. Possibly changing some of the AI options might help, but I don't know to what extent. I don't have a performance issue myself so I can't really test for you.

I don't think reducing the map itself is terribly practical. And yes an upgraded PC could definitely help you it sounds like. That's a dilemma of anyone with a crappy PC (I've been there before). Perhaps you can overclock a little? You'll have to look elsewhere on the internet to learn about that.
