Lightning strikes can damage squad members.
In Black Desert and some of the new areas, Lightning strikes are common and do a great job of adding to an already frightening atmosphere. The effect is diminished when you realize it's harmless.
Mechanics:
-Unprotected characters have damage distributed over their criticals and one leg, and are knocked out for a short time.
-Short characters with very little metal on them have a low chance of getting struck.
-Tall Characters carrying many metal objects are more likely to be struck.
-Skeletons and other Old Machines are immune. (They get struck all the time, but their metal chassis directs the current around important electrical components, and into the ground.)
-Characters completely encased in metal armor are immune. (They are essentially waking around in faraday suits.)(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage)
-Characters prone or crouched have a lower chance of getting struck.
Damage is mild to moderate considering the frequency of lightning in these areas. The intention is to cause tension for human players at all times, because they must choose between acid and lightning protection, each having its own trade-offs.
