Possible idea to make characters more lifelike

I've always wanted a little something more with my characters, but I didn't know what.
I think it would be a great addition if you added mental state to the characters, for example if they loose a limb/ally they could get depressed or get PTSD. You could even add character relationships and bonds.

This would make the game no longer fun, as things like cleaving a horde of fogmen would also have to do this to be realistic. If you want a team based game with something like this, you should play Rimworld, The Sims, Oxygen not Included, ETC where it is balanced around it. One game can`t have everything, as it just makes the game unplayable. (Except Dwarf Fortress, but despite it not being the best looking most PC can`t even create, let alone play a world in it.)
