Liberation AI

I recently liberated Rebirth, but found the AI response of the freed slaves a little underwhelming. I liked that some locked themselves up and refused to participate, that's a clever touch. However, I would like the freed slaves to do more than follow, loot weapons, and occasionally help fight. For instance, I gave every single one bandages (by picking them up and adding it to their inventory), but none of them would use them, even on themselves. It would have been nice to see some more variety in response. Some should just immediately try and make a run for it. Others should immediately go seeking weapons and revenge. Others should immediately go and try to free every other slave they can find. It should just feel a little more alive, I suppose. Also, is there a reason slaves that decide to join you do so automatically, without player input? I didn't necessarily want them to join my squad after being freed, they ought to have the decency to ask first (which is already implemented elsewhere, for instance when freeing some folk from getting snacked on in the foglands).
