OK, so, basically, i have a whole lot of ideas i want to put on the table before i forget them, trust me. I have a ton.

People
I think that the infantry right now is fine, but it would be interesting to see someone rise up occasionally, they could have better stats than everyone else, or more men, or the ability to build certain buildings more efficiently, whichever would seem the most balance-able. Another thing i think would be pretty damn cool is if somewhat rarely you had foreign squads/clans/armies go into the world with different everything, and they could possibly set up a town and be hostile or friendly, they may go for world domination or just be interested in trading with other people.

World
Could you imagine walking around and seeing an eerie, abandoned fortress with corpses laying around, smoke from craters from god knows what, destroyed buildings as if there was an epic battle between two great factions? Now what if when you went in the fortress there looked like there was just an ungodly large battle inside, blood everywhere, more corpses, and a ransacked interior? Now as you go down exploring the castle with your squad you find bandits, traps, monsters, but at the end of the exploration, at the last room there's a few chests, each one filled with riches, weapons, money, armor, whatever could have been valuable that wasn't taken would be there. These can be randomly generated too, so that every castle could be different. It could also be cool to see an actual functioning fortress too, with its own barracks, watch tower, and army.
Having a few caves or mountain entrances would be pretty cool to explore too, there could be a cave on one of the tallest mountains which is utterly huge, tons of fork-roads, a few bandit clans, and maybe some prisoners you could rescue to join you. The cave could be a lot like the castle, except with possible better items to grab from.

Buildings

Having barracks where you could see your troops being trained by instructors would add some life to the buildings rather than seeing a bar go across the screen. The instructors, the longer they trained soldiers the more experience the instructor gets, therefor the better your troops will be. Ex: Your instructor is at teaching 20 ( Replace that with whatever you please) and from that 20 from teaching your troops dish out a 40+ chance to attack 40+ block speed (Or whatever would make this balanced, I'm just providing an example.) It would also be very cool to see buildings be able to crumble from physX, say you have a catapult and it hits a tower, part of the tower falls and collapses onto another building which makes that building collapse, it would put strategy in placing your buildings because i don't think that you want your capital building to be smashed by a tower, right?

General game play ideas not directly related to those above.

I think that being able to modify how many guys you can have in your squad would be nice, because it seems i have reached my max on mine, so having the ability to toggle it from 0-infinity(Or whatever you want as long as its do-able  )

Battles

The battles right now are really, really, good but having the ability to have the armor deflect some hits rather than just take them would be pretty cool too. This of which brings up another thing because it would be interesting to see if archers would be to some extent possible, now i can see these being horribly broken because they do ranged damage and can probably incapacitate someone without much stress, If these can be implemented somehow that would be pretty cool.

I think for now, that's all i have, I'll do edits for sure if i have anymore ideas, if you read this far and you didn't troll with tl;dr then thanks for taking your time to read me rambling on about this!

People do rise up... well, statistically speaking. I observed a fight I just had, and I noticed that as I attacked a bandit, he leveled up in defense. Can't just be a coincidence! Generated factions would, in fact, be awesome, but i don't know how those would be implemented in a technical sense. I sense a lot of Dwarf Fortress influence here, correct me if I'm wrong... idk if I agree with dungeons and caves and stuff, it seems too RPG'ey to me, I like the economic simulation aspect of the game and I feel that dungeon hopping whilst slaying wild beasts kinda clashes with this game's atmosphere. I like the instructing idea, I've always wondered why I can't have my characters spar together... I also like your PhysX idea, although physics is almost always very glitchy and easy to exploit... (move your character onto a rock, the rock clips through your character and shoots off into a building, the whole outpost gets destroyed... stuff like this happens in game physics ALL the time.) Armor actually already deflects damage, it's kinda hard to notice but armor will turn damage into "shock" damage that goes away very quickly. I think this is balanced as compared to completely deflecting, because if some guy runs up to my group of archers and isn't the slightest bit hurt, I may be slightly but completely pissed. Having a max on squad sizes really brings up the issue of scale in this game and just how far characters are micromanaged versus macromanaged. (EG, if I make an army of 200 soldiers, will I have to personally equip all of them with katana A and first aid kit B and body armor C?)
I must say it... tl;dr (jk XD)

Enemies do grow. Set one of your guys to defense mode and watch the guy attack you. You'll note his attack will outgrow your defense, quickly. Now currently they're restricted by gameplay limitation but later I imagine seeing emergent people won't be unthinkable.

No monsters I'm afraid. Not for a long time, if ever, since they add to much complexity to the currently functional battle system. Right now it's all about humans interacting with each other. Faction interactions are the key to damn near everything even in the current build. Right now you could walk around a hill and see dozens of dead soldiers with a lone Sargent limping away...

Or a daring rescue from a town overrun with Sand Ninjas...

Barrack to see your soldiers not being directly controlled by you is a very likely outcome. Later you will be able to have your own factions including troops. It's not unthinkable to see them in action.
Dunno about destructible buildings. At least in a realistic fashion.

It used to be infinite squad members but the GUI only supports 20 for now so he capped it. Likely to improve in time.

Armor can deflect hits. If you ever take damage and see for instance:
Damage Right Arm - 2 (15)
That means your armor stopped 15 damage.
An archery is planned. You can see it blacked out in the stats page.

It's always good to see people giving input :D.

I can agree with the caves and castles things, but i don't think that i was very clear on the armor, what i meant was that the armor has a possibility to deflect, not to deflect 100% lol, and as for the squad scale, i agree as well, i think that maybe Chris could implement an option that lets your soldiers go and automatically buy an armor and weapon set by you.

I haven't read most of what was above, just this last sentence actually.
This is planned, you'll be able to have some kind of templates. So a soldier will automatically go and equip himself following the template you set him to. If there's not enough armor or swords, the soldier will automatically go ask the blacksmith to produce it.. etc

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

Sounds great. It takes ages for me to walk around from town to town just to equip this 1 dude who has been following me. Wish I had the ability to click on the map then the guys walk there
