I know practice dummies are here, and that improves attack. Presumably, sparring would improve defense and attack, and sparring's been discussed before. But what about training the new recruits to handle heavy weights quickly? Anything to lift? Or perhaps a player-made collection of waypoints would be good. What I mean by that is, if you have a new recruit that you want to be pretty strong quickly, you strap him down in lots of armor, and a backpack full of stuff, and set him about running circles around the base, or in a circuit of the player's choice. Though, this could be accomplished with a "Patrol" type command, too...

Yeah, as long as we have the ability to outfit soldiers and set up patrol routes, it should work out just as you say all by itself! That's the magic of these dynamic open world games :D

this is fun, make him carry one of his squad members, it should increase his strength pretty quick.

Usually there are some guards outside of towns that idle around. I pack a newbie with heavy things, if unconcious enemy is present - make the newbie pick him up and make it follow the town guards. It works pretty good for me but having an actual training method would be better.

HAH. I have a character named Jim, and how I trained him initially after realizing how severe the update was to my current style of playing was, I just slapped full armor on him, and made him carry a team member with full armor and a backpack. All that walking was pretty useful in the end. :P

I just had a similar thought, so I figured I would go ahead and bump this thread. It would be nice to see a waypoint system, both to patrol areas and for strength and athletics training purposes.

I agree, i would like to see a sparing system in place, it would make training a bit more realistic, after carrying a really heavy person around for ages, its time to spar with one of the "sword masters" of the group.

I've modified Leet's idea of long distance waypoints using party members into a new training system. I have one guy training on the dummies (forever) in Clownsteady and one guy doing the same in some town way down south.

Then i either load them up (for strength) or strip them down (for athletics) and tell them to loot the other dude. Off they sprint and I am free for the next 15 minutes or so and can work on my core members for combat training and/or building.

NB: It is important to use the loot command as I have found bodyguard and follow to make them run instead of sprint long distances. Using the loot command will make them sprint all the way.

Actually, the weight of the carried person doesn't matter, it's the same weight value no matter what they're carrying.
