RE: Auto-Saving + Re-loading.

The new update of the "Reload game" feature, along with the handful of new bugs that have been introduced have given me a few ideas. Firstly:
1. Auto-Save: I played for a while with the new update and my characters did some leveling. I also managed to alter my relationship with various factions only for a bug to crop up and shut my game down.
Now yes it was my own dumb fault for not quick-saving on a regular basis sure, however with the new feature that allows you to reload your characters and your buildings, having an auto-save/save on quit feature would mean that I won't have to be pressing that F5 button like a crackhead pressing the "MORE" button. It may also add to the permanence that this game seems to aim for. Secondly:
2. Re-loading as new faction option: As you can now reload with just your characters/ have them reset, /have a new world with or without your old building constructions, I was wondering if there would be another option added at a later date which allows you to start as a new character and a new faction, but allowing your previous faction and buildings to remain in the game world?
They would be AI NPC characters that acted like the other factions, only you'd have set them up prior to your new faction existing. Could add a bit of replayability to the game trying to topple your previous tyrannical bandit faction, or raiding a base containing an army YOU'D previously built.
Anyway, was wondering what people thought of these...
