Trading is not as simple as it seems, even in medieval ages you needed licenses to make production buildings in a town - which were called privileges. You could be a good or a bad trader. If you bought goods that were scarce in a town you lowered the reputation, and if you sold the excess your reputation decreased too. But if you bought the excess your reputation wold go up, and if you sold what was scarce your reputation wold boom for saving the town (only if they needed it.

Reputation: it can affect the prices or whether or not the people will want to trade with you - or even have you around town! If you have a bad rep. exceppt outrageous prices and hostility. If you have a good one, expect to be able to presuade people much better :D! You might get bandits not to atack you if you have a bad rep with a town though. Also reputation is DIFFERENT with each town. It wold be unfair if you had a bad rep. in a town and because of that your rep in the other wold be the same. People may also take advantage, so I want it to be realistic and fair.

Now privileges: it's not up to YOU to wheter or not build houses to house your workers or factories to produce your own goods in a town or on it's outsirks. Of course it has advantages: you won't have to worry about protection. However, trader's guild will be the ones responsible for this, or it may be the local governor: if you have a good reputation and enough money, you can get the privilege. If you have either a bad reputation or not enough money, then no privilege for you.
Now you may be wondering: WTF DOES REPUTATION HAS TO DO WITH PRIVILEGES!? Well, the lord may think that you are not skilled enough to do good to the town, or he may think that you want to prejudice the town due to your previous action. However, it's all about the reputation, not actions remember that.

That's it, I hope that you accept this request and give your opinion, any suggestions are welcome.

Reputation or honor or whatever you want to call it has been talked about a lot before and I agree with you that if it's implemented (which I hope) it should naturally have affect to your sales or income from shops/hotels/saloons/mines/blacksmiths etc.

But I think it might get too complicated if you had different reputation or fame in every town. Maybe just one bar in your status that tells your reputation and has either increasing, decreasing or neutral affect on your income.

And about buying privileges, it might be fun and historically accurate feature but since we will have taxation in the game, it's much simpler just have higher taxes if you are running a business than if you just had a normal home inside town. Maybe base taxation would be the same but from every cat you earn from business you will give XX% to the town.

Aye, i'd love all this to be implemented. for it to work well the reputation system would need to be a little more in depth. Like, a curve would probably be good on it as well as a dynamic positive/negative reaction response rather than "over 10 relations you get access to do this and this but not 9.9"

That got me an idea thoose taxes santaissick: BUILDING TAXES. Traders can build houses, production and trading buildings but that's all, however they get taxed for each building, the tax variates with each town, so there is only one solution. That solution is citizens that live in houses built by a trader pay taxes to the TRADER that owns the building! He can choose to run off or atract citizens, to increase or decrease taxes. At a level the taxes may seem generous, but at others they may look like an abuse. Also it depends of who they expell, if it's a good person they look evil, if it's a bad person they may look good. This also affects reputation. Also the land value may increase or decrease, and your buildings may be sold to the state! :D They may demolish them right away or use them. Also if they demand tech, send them a "menssage" that will involve some fingers, a head, a heart and a brain  (b****es think they can take my hard work, they are WRONG )
