Autosave

Maybe in increments. Just a thought. At least for the present version where it's Alpha and random crashes are a possibility. You won't lose hard work. Maybe once the game is finished it could be taken out so you need to be sure to save every now and then, but ATM where crashing at any moment is a possibility an autosave would be nice.

When the game is finished it will be more akin to a Roguelike, with constant autosaves and no exit without saving, making any loss permanent. The plan is to add an autosave feature, but there are reasons it isn't currently in the game. For one, you can really only have the one save game, and there are certain situations you can find yourself in that you really can only either reload or import to get out of. Some rare bugs exist that can cause one of your units to fall beneath the terrain when put down, and there's really no telling what kind of issues may crop up in the near future.

Having multiple save slots would almost be wasted code in the end, since the game isn't going to have save-scumming be an option from what I understand. As it stands, you just have to remember to hit F5 after you do anything useful. I'm sure we've all lost minutes, perhaps even hours of work if we forget to save. Unfortunately it's one of the side affects of testing an alpha.

Save scumming is always an option as long as your game carries data between playsessions. Even if it doesnt, it's still possible... Anyways the only savescumming i've done in kenshi has been due to bugs i've either stumbled upon or intentionally incurred. the game is very forgiving once you have a decent set of armor at any level.

Multiple save slots is necessary because people will want to play more than one game at the same time. You're thinking of a saveslot system where you can pick the slots once the game's been made.

Okay then. Problem solved, this can be ignored. I'll lock it.
