Individual Character Indicators

I searched briefly and I hope this hasn't been posted before. I think it'd be nifty if on the individual character icons on screen you could give a few color coded indicators for us. Say a green dot to indicate that the character is "operating a machine" as it's described in game. Perhaps a red dot to indicate that the character is being attacked or is otherwise engaged in a fight. No colored dots on the icon to represent that the character is idle. I feel like when I have multiple characters in different locations it's hard to keep tabs on all of them to make sure they're all active and doing something useful. Especially when I'm walking one character to a city to buy/sell while I leave the others at the base to mine/farm/build.

Indicators for when characters are being attacked have been discussed, but I haven't seen other indicators like you mentioned with labour. This, I think, would really be quite useful, especially if it could be applied to squads of people. Like, for example, one squad is set to patrol one area, another to trade between one faction, then the rest are staying at the base either working or standing on guard.

It doesn't sound hard to implement, perhaps Chris will give the idea some thought, especially once we get nearer to having the ability to control additional squads. Then again, he may already have a plan in mind, he usually stays awfully quiet about anything more than two updates out, in case he comes up with something better.
