This is less of a Request and more of a question.
Considering the fact that we are allowed to make small factories and almost settlements, later also to possibly conquer other people´s cities. Will there then be something that determines if people emmi or immigrate to different areas?
Like, say I Create a Little Farmer society, based on a, sort of Proletarian dictatorship principle, Where everyone has a bed, a job and food for the night, This might not be that, or at all, appealing to someone with actual money, and many would dislike this idea, but I guess if there was say a City with people dying of squalor in the streets, owning nothing, They would find it a more positive future where they would be able to gain, well, Life, By simply moving.
Would that be possible?
I sort of thought about it because we always seem to gain new people by hiring them, but I think still People would move around according to whats fitting.
Of course, we should be allowed to say "Immigrants Piss off!" still, but Would it be possible? OR is it completely bonkers?

It's not a terrible idea, but I don't think it's the direction Kenshi is going to be heading in. From what I gather in the future we'll be able to hire teams of workers who will demand wages in cities, and probably capture fallen foes and use slave labor as well. Slave labor will doubtless come with its own set of troubles, but as far as a natural ebb and flow of citizens for our settlements it seems unlikely. We will, I think, be able to have taverns set up and hopefully acquire additional recruits through our own taverns, people who will stay for awhile and perhaps move on with another caravan if we don't hire them. But this is not Banished, so our goals are less about making people comfortable so they will want to live in our settlements, and more about acquiring new resources, research and territory. More 4X than Settlement building, at least that's always the way I've read what Chris has said in the past.

But some of those statements are quite old, and we've seen the game iterated on and refined time and time again, once we're to the point where we can capture enemy cities perhaps more large scale automation and autonomous citizens. I could see, for example the ability to offer our own constructed or conquered buildings for sale to any potential buyers that want the protection our factions will be able to offer at some point in the future. Of course before then we're going need to see a variety of additional functionality, namely trade caravans purchasing our goods (which already seems to be working for the NPC cities so may be in relatively soon) and perhaps even hiring workers. After that it could be an interesting mechanic, have a large bunkhouse for the common workers and some houses they can aspire to own. But to me I'd say that sort of thing would all make sense more in a world with marriages and such and I am not sure if we'll ever see anything on that front. Female character models will be the first step in that direction, and I imagine it won't be too long before we see them.

I very much agree with the sentiment of the OP, this kind of feature would help to bring the world to life with the cities competing on a population front too. It wouldn't need to be too in depth but attracting a workforce is quite an attractive idea.
