Compass/Map Travel Enhancement

Hello, I am new to Kenshi. I just got the game today and I am really quite impressed. I did have one thought while playing though, I'm sorry ahead of time if anyone has already stated this.
Has there been any thought to adding a compass in the game? just to make it easier to determine the direction of the party. The compass could either be obtained at the start of the game or maybe purchased from a merchant. It could either be constantly on screen or toggled on and off, or maybe just appear when you open the map.
Also, I had the idea of "Planning" a trade or travel route. For instance, we could open our map from point A, with the desire to head to point C. We could click point C and have a "Set Route" option. From there the selected characters would start to travel towards point C. If we had a desire to stop at point B on the way as checkpoint to barter or rest, we could select point B and then select point C. If there were a "Set Route" button, I think we'd need a "Cancel Route" option as well. Does anyone else have thoughts on this? I'd like to hear what you guys think!
