Travelling on foot? Gets a little old

Ever been travelling from town to town and thought "running for ages (sometimes in the wrong direction) gets a little bit old"? Well I think that possibly some sort of transportation device (not fast-travel) should be implemented; Something like... an airship? Or horse and cart/carriage? (could open up opportunities to be a highway man, or be a taxi service). Just a slightly quicker way to travel, without missing the exploration along the way.

There a lot of posts saying no vehicles will be implemented, if mounts are already at the verge of no, vehicles are less likely, and even on walking there can be highwayman, doesn t mean just becaus you on foot they can t stop you, by the oposite, even easier as you slowwer than on a vehicle so more advantagous to be done.

Here's a bad solution then, a giant zip line network. They aren't vehicles, and they're probably faster than walking, depending on how long it takes to climb the towers.

Bad solution indeed, i can only see a mess of cables around that wose than telephones and a lot of conflicht with birds

, tho i gota say i would use that a lot, sounds fun and dangerous, and i gues i can say original, at least don t remmeber to see.

regardless of what your traveling on, if your traveling in the wrong direction all the time ofcourse its going to become frustrating.
you may notice that the "X" is not where your men are but where the camera is, try using that to find your way.
Chris has mentioned that he had planed to implement a fast travel feature based off another game, However since the initial post Chris has not mentioned anything about a fast travel feature and may have change his mind about it.
But much like hbrown said, Mounts are confirmed to NOT be in the game.

I still ask me why people want mounts/horses, when the characters with an high atleichs are already speed racers xD, the map seems to be smaller when i have lot of characters with high atletic, just have to slow down because of my heavy bagpack guy.

ya, i got high athletics, but I think people like the idea of cavalry, and mounted combat, i dont know of a game at the moment other than like that one Zelda game where there was a form of mounted combat.

The game Chris mentioned copying fast travel from was Fallout and Fallout 2. Basically once out of a town, it zooms out to a map level, you click anywhere on the map, and the player moves in time compression to that place, with random encounters on the way.
I like Bethesda but I don't know why Chris would want to copy a fps series. (Trollololol

Till he gets to the implementation of it he might get another better solution, or different which might be more suitable to the game, don t know if using "better" is correct here tho, but you get what i mean.
