I'm a big fan of Dayz and Don't starve, and survival games overall. Kenshi is/will be way more complex than any of them, but I still think it could be really interesting with really, really dark nights.

Not so dark that it's irritating and not playable, but you should probably need a torch to light up your surroundings... Perhaps to keep strange animals at bay, to the cost of attracting strangers in the dark.

Feeling the fear of dusk when you're out in the vast desert, and the longing for dawn. It will make each day more enjoyable, and at the beginning of your journey, probably make the night-time so scary that you might want to find shelter in a nearby town or small settlement with lights. As you progress, if you'd like to build your own town or small encampment you'll build more permanent light sources, like for an example a lamppost or smaller lanterns.

This also opens up the ability to screw with others. Cut their electricity, and stealth easily through town and scavange what you can whilst some unfortunate traders curse as they didn't prepare for something like this.

Well you get my point.. Night-time can be both feared, and used to your own advantage - and still add a whole lot to the gameplay and immersion (Seeing a lights in the distance etc.)

And please don't hit me with the "use the search function".. I want a discussion, not just a statement.
