So far, the ability to zoom out and get a free movement view of all that you're doing and your characters and what not is great. But, like it's stated in the FAQ, this game can be played with just a few characters, even 1 or 2, and the current mechanics play decently with small groups, but not as well as they could. Take Dragon Age Origins for example. The main difference between that game's controls and this game's is that in DA:O, you have the option to zoom in and directly control from a third person view, the selected character.
You already have a way to attach the camera to a character, yes, but its very clunky, and I have barely found any use for it in its current state.
Especially in small groups, I think that DA:O style movement and controls would allow the player to feel much more directly connected to their characters, and for those who want to be able to control individual characters at a time (like if they have a main guy, and they want the other characters follow him, like in DA:O, or Skyrim, or even Oblivion, though Oblivion's follower system was crap lol), this will make it much easier to do that.
To help clarify, I'm talking about like, when you're zoomed in on a character to can use the WSAD keys to move him around, right click and drag to move camera, right click when a icon pops up for trade and all that stuff, and then when you zoom out, in changes back to how it is now, which I do think is good for when you're moving large numbers of people or need to move while getting a larger view of the area, etc.
Basically, GW2, Skyrim Third Person, DA:O, etc, style movement and controls when focused in on characters, and the way it is now for the times and situations that, you know, you made it for, haha.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this is considered.
