Hardcore mode: NO FAST TRAVEL.

Nothing is more hardcore than not having fast travel to make the game easier for you.

I will admit, I was a bit disappointed to hear that fast travel will be eventually be implemented in this game. One of the reasons I started to like Kenshi so much is because it didn't make things easy on you; but the fact that fast travel will be included has led to a little disappointment for me, because it just makes running around in the grand open wilderness completely unnecessary.

As a result, I propose to the development team to not allow fast travel in Hardcore mode.

Normal mode can still have fast travel, for those who like it soft. But the players who want a challenge should actually have a challenge. If given the option, one must use it, and that is why I propose limiting it from hardcore mode. See, even though I hate fast travel, I'm going to use it if it's available because I won't need to dedicate more time to travel. But, if it isn't there, then I have no choice but to play the game the hard way. The hardcore way.

So... yeah. No fast travel in hardcore mode :ugeek:

What about just make fast travel optional? I was expecting that as much I understand it would be good to have a hardcore mode but if its an optional thing I'd probably walk it since you can build up skills along the way anyways.

But yeah good point I could imagine in hardcore mode though things like bandits have a higher view rate or something so they can see you from further distances and bandits spawn in much bigger groups and a bunch of factions hate you lol

I don think the fast travel will be forced, as the map is open, and i don t see Chris changing to make you need to use options to travel around other than walk, at least i will not use, unless you really have to which i would rather not see.

On the other hand, if the fast travel is needed, there is no way of option for a "no fast travel" as you gona need anyway, if it is a form for "harcore mode" with no fast travel, it makes it optional, because you just use if you want you not forced nor need, unless such "hardcore mode" blocks it permanently on that save and adds more options for it.

Could be quite fun, challenging, and immersive. Tbh it really depends on what sort of fast travel we get.

However, disabling fast travel is just the sort of thing the Choosing Game Mechanics feature request is for.

I don't think it will be really hard, since most players have already got used to using no fast travel

True, but the final map will be at least twice as large.

Fasttravel like in Morrowind will be useful, i think.
But not like in oblivion or skyrim - first game has spoiled system caused by consoles, and second game is just stupid and shitty crap.

I say the fast travel in game should be the ability to click a spot on the map and the character starts to go there

+1

Anything beyond a travel service vendor and I'd prefer to be able to completely turn it off. As in never be able to access it even if I wanted to, nevermind have to look at it.
