Guys, The map should really be clickable. I think everyone will agree on this.

another thing which I would really like to see is that the player should be able to buy a map or either make a map of his own, by exploring the world, everything he makes a step some fog of war will be scrapped off the paper and filled in.

An even nicer thing would be something similar to minecraft maps. You start of with a map which just portrays the boundries you've been at. So if youve only been in catan. the whole map will consist of only catan, however when you get to the boundry of your map, you can see more land so your map gets updated it doesnt get bigger, but the things on the map will get smaller (zoom function would be perfect then) after getting to a second city, the whole path you followed should then be added to the map. So you actually explore and draw up your own map. I guess it will be very difficult to implement but it would give the player, some additional options and would prolongue the total gaming time.
Now it is just plain boring, I exactly know where everything is.

To make this feature really perfect I would really love to see it happen that the player should talk to people about other towns to be able to know about that particular town. For example you start off in catan, so you know about catan, but you dont know shit about any other city or where to go.

It would take a long time to explore the whole land. Instead you can interact with people in bars to hear rumours, stories or directions to other cities. After talking to such a person he will give you the directions and possible landmarks to find the city. (example: "you leave catan follow the road until it stops, then you continue until you see the big white tree, that stands out of all the others, here you will be able to see the river which you need to follow downstream till you get to a bridge, follow this road and you will arrive at ( ....town).

I forgot to add.

It would be nice to be able to craft a compass, in order to know what direction is north. this would be vital for exploring the land and well... filling up and expanding your map!

A minimap isnt really necessary, but a compass is.

This has been discussed already. Remember to use the search bar to find relevant threads.

The map we have right now is a placeholder. Chris intends to make the map work like a command center where you'll be able to give orders and see what's happening around you.
We are still in an alpha/beta state for the map, it will eventually get better later on.

I don't like the idea of a map only updating when you go somewhere. In minecraft it works because we are essentially alone. But in Kenshi we meet traveling traders, adventurers (and bandits), I think it would be more realistic to get some info from them.

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

Yeah but that is exactly what I mean, you can talk to those traders or bandits and get you map updated with new locations. because you cant be knowledgable about anything that is happening around you. Sometimes you dont even know what is happening across your own street unless you talk to some1.

It would make the game so much more interactive and people would actually spend some of their time on talking to passengers in search of some valuable information.

Especially if like villages would be implemented. You perhaps know about the villages around your neighbourhood, but not the villages on the other side of the map. but you can find out about this by going to the nearby big city and talk to some people or by exploring for yourself.

That in my opinion is a must in a sandbox game. You can do everything you like, but you shouldnt have all the knowledge about everything and every location in the game when you start out. You get it by talking, exploring travelling, roaming, etc.

Also for example if the holy nations decides to send a raiding party, it is bullshit in my opinion that you already know about it as soon as they leave their own city. you get to know about a raiding party, either by hearing it from travellers(who crossed them and survived), or by seeing the raiders attack your men.
