Throwing People (serious suggestion presented jokingly)

I think we should be able to throw bodies.

No really, throwing bodies makes it easier for you to pile them up, you can use them to trip up an enemy chasing you, or throw it AT an enemy to knock them down.

But it shouldn't be limited to unconscious bodies. Imagine if you will, someone throws a sword at you. Assuming there's no gnomes around to use as a body shield, you have about a 60% (not an actual statistic) chance of being cut. If someone throws a body at you, its harder to dodge and harder to block with a gnome, but it'll probably just knock you off your feet. But if someone throws a person with a sword at you, holy shit! Now more space is covered, its harder to block, AND the sword can be redirected! You Sir, have just been stabbed by a flying catgirl with a saber.

Many people have also asked if there's a way to remove someone from your squad. Currently the only way for them to leave is death, and what better way to help them to it, than by throwing them directly at armed ninjas?! Not to mention, its just fun to do to people you don't like! Bandits at your gates, and you wanna kill them without opening the gate to get outside? Throw a soldier or two off the wall! "Why not jump off the wall instead of be thrown, you ask?" Because being thrown is way more reckless and intimidating!

I've previously had visions that the Martial Arts aspect will involve some forms of grappling, judo, and what not... but I've never thought of taking it to the ultimate level of... Lucha Libre

This is actually done incredibly well in Dwarf Fortress's Adventure Mode if you make a character that has a decent Wrestling skill.

To put it simply, if Kenshi were to adopt wrestling (specifically the ability for my char to become a lethal luchador) as a part of the Martial Arts skill, I would personally create a paypal account with the sole purpose of donating at least $2k as Chris's quest reward.

love the grappling ideal or even just a quick snap kick to the shin occasionally when using swords if martial skill is high

Man, it's been a while since I tossed this feature request out there, huh (yeah sorry, that was bad)? I mean we actually have a way to remove people from our faction without them dying now. I'm kinda surprised it never garnered more attention. But I still think we should be able to throw people, and I even have a new reason to support it, to make up for the reason that's been lost.

So we know that eventually, people will be able to scale walls and buildings. I posit that it would be faster, and less equipment intensive to be thrown up the side of a building or over a wall, rather than climb it with a ladder or grappling hook. Heck, you could still use a grappling hook. Lodge it on the top of whatever you're trying to climb, and then throw a person as far up the rope as you can. This helps both if the rope is too short, or to just get a head start on climbing. Just remember not to try it in heavy armor. Nayu, the poor gnome, tried it last week, and couldn't actually catch herself on the rope due to all the extra weight. She was completely uninjured, of course, but the guy she landed on was in a coma for 3 days with a gnome-sized imprint on his chest.

Incidentally, this also works with climbing claws (hand equipment that I'm sure you can picture from the name). Of course, make sure the one with the claws is the one who gets thrown, not the other way around. Trust me, it only ends in graphically violent disaster, otherwise. Also be sure that the building or walls you're trying to use them on aren't made of metal, or they'll fail to pierce and you have to watch your attack fail in a *splat* followed by a comical slide-whistle inducing slide down the wall.
