Hi I'd like to throw in the idea of having a town magistrate (theirs a Japanese name I can't remember at the moment) that can sell permits to build in and around the town ( like the mine or farms).

So for example you could buy a house as normal and turn it into a shop build a forge outside the building then build a mine outside the town.
You would supply the workers ( counter/ forge/ mine) but you would get protection from the guards.
The downside is you have to pay tax per permit / building owned.

Oh and when you buy a house it would be nice to clear the towns furniture after you bought it.

Been suggested already I believe.

Bugyou. Or daimyou, but the latter is more of a lord instead of a magistrate.
