Does the developer have any plans to add ships/naval combat or anything of the sorts?

Not that I have heard of before, but I'm fairly certain they will not be added by using the logic that there will be no mounts in this game (at least regarding horses, automobiles, etc.), however naval combat was a pretty big deal in Edo Period Japan.
