my current playstyle is bandit, i have over 100k from selling blueprints. BUT i do have someone who is a trader, i walk him to cities with guards and sell my weapons from which i make.
In rise of nations (an old rts game) you could select scouts and enable auto explore where they would travel the map for enemies, obviously they would die eventually as you are not keeping an eye on them.
It would be a long way down the road i understand but i think it would be extremely useful to implement a similar feature, have a trader AUTO-TRADE where you select an amount of money for him (possibly) and he went between (set amount) cities, bought things with under 100% trade up and sold them to cities with over 100% trade up.

In the same way why not a simple "trader job" where you can automatise a member of a squad to just "sell" in a selected town all his bagback or / x ressource. That way i guess, YOU have to learn how are different price in different markets (which is Role play) but can automatise selling (which gives you time for something else less boring :p)
In dungeon siege if i remember, something like that was possible, and pets in Torchlight in an other way.. But automatising the research of THE better price and the best action, must not be in a rpgame in my opinion.
