Sparks flying in battle!
Did anybody else like it when sparks would fly when two weapons impacted? It gave a very visceral contact feeling. It just kinda seems like combat is very muted in this game. You more or less silently struggle, flail, and die in the desert. If that was the ambience intended, then okey doke. But I think it would be cool if a man getting his chest or skull caved in made a *krnch*. Getting hit in the stomach gave a *hoof*. They wouldn't have to yell or banshee or anything. They could be a little less stoic imo.

i was never a fan of the sparking weapon clashes. mostly because i know that dont actually happen in real life. ( thanks to myth-busters proving it ) and its kinda distracting.
the random critical hit sounds would be kinda kewl. though maybe make it rare, dont want a huge battle and i hear that same sound bite repeated all over the place.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?

Personally, subtle and occasional spark flying are really good idea and it does happen when a steel weapon hits or is blocked by a hard material (depending on the size of chipped metals).
I know it's a "luxurious feature" for now, though that effect will certainly contribute to atmosphere of Kenshi's sword battle.

Another Kenshi from the Far East.

Kenshi used to have sparkses with every single weapon contact swing. It was like a fireworks display in larger battles. But I could totally see how Hatsune found it distracting. There's a game I played called Elona Shooter in which I was so happy when I could turn fireworks during my killstreaks off. So distracting. Perhaps a slider bar for the percentage of connection strikes that lead to a spark?kakusha wrote:Personally, subtle and occasional spark flying are really good idea and it does happen when a steel weapon hits or is blocked by a hard material (depending on the size of chipped metals).

Not knowing that, I saw the early trailer and now I understand what you are talking about.Abek wrote:Kenshi used to have sparkses with every single weapon contact swing. It was like a fireworks display in larger battles. But I could totally see how Hatsune found it distracting.
Wow these sparks are funny but bit too exaggerated indeed.
