I think Kenshi could use a few city occupations if possible. Most of the jobs I've heard about take place in the wilderness or involve a lot of traveling. So I was wondering if it would be possible to just add in a few occupations that one can make a living off of inside the walls of a town. You could roleplay as a normal citizen, safely insulated from the chaos outside. Until, perhaps, that illusion is shattered by a horde of marauders or an invading army. I just think it would be neat is all.

Currently you can set up a bar or shop in town.
I have one game where I have shops in all the towns.
I daily get items from the local traders to make rum and bread. Then sell it at the store for a small but fair profit.
You could also create and sell fabrics and leather in similar fashion.
I also have a group that travels around and picks up trade goods where they are low and delivers them to the shops where they can be sold for the best prices.

It would be nice to see a wider array of things that you could make and sell. It would even be better it you could find special ingredients in the wilds that you could add to your standard items to make them even more valuable. For example harvest honey from a wild *CENSORED* nest to make honey rum, or honey bread. Or get some spider silk from killing desert spiders to make silk fabrics for making luxury Kimonos or extra strong ninja armor.

it would also be nice if the towns people would buy weapons and armor. Then I could setup a blacksmith shop in a town.

 I can't believe it censored the name of the little bug with stingers that makes honey in my last post. I wonder if auto correct changed it to something else when I posted.

Does need some characters playing music  and surely there's got to be some beggars who couldn't afford a home in the towns. As for jobs, (financials like wages/share of profitable outcomes) there's a reason people don't have undying loyalty to someone who hired them. They have individual incentives, these include good food, good water, and good health at the basic level and then they branch into being good at something like a job to feed those three things. If absolute authority(includes best necessities being met) vs. risk represented the goals of an AI they'd all be inclined for the top important safe positions than perhaps die on the street being mugged because they had no one who cared to protect them.

If there was marriage and one of them betrayed the other by selling them into slavery ----(that is if the slavers made sure whoever being traded wouldn't escape and the chance they wouldn't have slaved them both depending on the factions relations)--- for money, there's a chance depending on their current financial situation plus relationship it'd be worth it.

Slave jobs: (great for no wages but have varying risk depending on individual characteristics)
slave worker * slave fighter * gladiator * slave bodyguard * taskmaster * slave servant/assistant (helps you do your job) * Important figure's slave servant/assistant * Important figure's slave bodyguard * escaped slave

(Depending on the owner, the higher the owners relationship to them and potential to hunt them down, less friendly help, and the more people they like that they have to leave behind, the less likely they run away or turn on their master)

Freemen jobs:
food seller * water seller (bars don't sell everything)* assassin * spy * tax collector * smuggler * tamer (selling creatures) * mayor * scientist * robotic expert (kinda rare) * thief preferably making a living at it * commander leading troops in war * guards on the walls * builders * entertainers that do tricks (for tips) * slave auctioneer * smithy * minter * slave owner * financial record keeper * town crier * wise-man/woman * jeweler * translator * resource exchanger (keeps record of all resources in stock)* food/water storer * personal trainer (could specialize in swordsmanship, type of fighting style or ranged weapons) * and add all the other basic business jobs that go on inside town that the player has. Don't forget people flooding in from other places and outside businesses so that will fill up some space from feeling lonely. Add some tonic sellers and illegal poison sellers, and your on your way to avoiding a suicidal political plot without that bad headache. :D

Yes It would be great if the jobs the ai does could be done by the player.
