Okay so, I was just wondering how ranged weapons would be treated in a sword-focused game like Kenshi. Of course, hand-held crossbows of some variety are confirmed to show up in the game, but I was wondering how people will react to them. I personally think it would be something like this.

Essentially, the ease of use and lethal efficiency of a crossbow may give your character an advantage in combat, but you will be almost universally looked down on for using such a dishonorable weapon, and may even have it confiscated.

Does anyone else have any thoughts about it?

Ah well, I guess. Also, where did you hear about that? I'd like to read more.
