I know this was a well talked about subject for a while, and I was wondering whether the feature of taking npcs (Dust bandits and such) and making them slaves was a planned feature yet? I know that for a while Chris was against the idea.
Liked the idea because when I first played the game the first base I built incorporated a prison for anyone who would attack said base and always thought of how cool it would be to punish my attackers through labour.

It's not so much a moral limitation, it's a gameplay one. Even now I haven't finished coding all the possible situations resulting from slavery, like escapes, recaptures, and all the AI complications surrounding it. If I let the player enslave then I have to code even more stuff to handle the gameplay; what are the downsides, when/how do they escape, how do others react, what happens when you do this etc.
I might add it later in development but it's not a high priority feature, the main reason I added slavery was to cause more fun and grief for the players and to give him something to rebel against and shape the world's economy later on.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable
