I have been having issues with how food is done in the game.

If they have food in the inventory, they eat it, if they do not, then they starve. It does not matter if the food is in a farm, or a box, if they do not have it in their inventory, they starve.

If they are carrying food in their inventory, like greenfruit, and you do not want them to eat it, they still might, thus ruining your farm plans.

Yet in the towns, i see a bunch of people sitting around tables, like normal people. I see plates and stuff. All this stuff seems to be useless in the game, the only purpose is to sell to make some money early on.

Why does it have to be this way?

We should be able to designate a "main hall", with a cook and tables for the squads to sit at. when the squads are on an outpost, and when a cook and staff are assigned, then the table will be set at a designated time, and the squads will go, sit down, eat, say stuff, then get back to work. this would be a more interesting way for feeding people, and more organized, then just having a "food barrel", and everyone eats from it willy nilly.

Just like real life.

It would also be a waste to only use game time for when someone should eat. This could also be used for watch rotations, when watch standers eat, and when someone should work a well/then train, or get some sleep.

Furthermore, this would make assassination more interesting. We could poison someone's food before dinner, frame a cook or a slave, or kill someone when they go to sleep. We could also scout out a settlement, and attack them during watch turnover.
