Hi all,
I am trying to update the dialog for the French version of Kenshi and I am currently facing an issue with the FCS.
I opened it in translation mod and tried to add some missing Word Swaps.
When I right clicked in the column list of word swaps and selected 'New', it opened a window 'Word Swapper' but with the design and content of a dialogue window. (not the design of a word swap window)
So is it a normal behaviour ?
How can i add word swaps ?
Thank you
FCS translation issue
Word swaps are just normal dialogues, they look for the /WORD/ in a line and replace the content with something from the word swap dialog.
For the purposes of translation, I'm unsure how you'd go about adding new word swaps in places that don't have one normally, beyond simply going and editing all the lines directly to include them. I'm not very familiar with the translation process, or if there is some easier method to work them in.

Hi Shidan,
I am trying to add some missing word swaps that raise some error in FCS.
when I open an existing word swap, the displayed window is this one:

Here, I can add or remove word swap.
If I try to add a missing word swap by selecting the menu option (right clic in the word swap list) 'New'
I get the dialogue window:

Without any possibility to add word swap.
So, from my point of view, this is a bug. (but perhaps I missed something).

Sorry, it seems they changed once again before I got to look. Any chance you could update the links once more?
Also, can you quote me when you do? That will send me a notification, so I can see it as soon as possible. Rather than relying on me thinking to check back.
Sorry for all the inconvenience over this.

Maybe they're marked as private or something? Still nothing for me, and if I try to visit their links I just get a 401 error.
Perhaps just share them as a download on dropbox? I don't mind downloading them to view them.
Or you could probably zip them and upload them directly to the forums here as an attachment.

I changed the location of the file and set them on my cdn server.
The link will not change any more.

That second image is indeed a normal window for creating word swaps.
The first thing you do is click the "Add Line" button, which will add an empty line below. Select that line and a "text" section will appear on the right side, allowing you to edit the content.
Here is an example I just created: You can see the possible text on the right side.
If you want added conditions, you use multiple separate lines instead of texts. Like this one here: Up at the top, there is a condition if the target (the person the speaker is talking to) is female. The = 0 means the line can only trigger if false, meaning the swap would pick the "Him" line to play. The "Her" line is set up similar, but with a = 1 instead, to indicate it plays if the condition is true.
