I have been reading some of the hundreds of comments on the Steam site.

A few of them have indicated an interest in providing some financial support for the game.

Is there some way you could put a "support" link on this website and take in more donations? I know you had the prior funding run, but there does seem to be some interest on Steam.

Be sure and update (AT THE TOP of the description) Steam once you set up a donation system. It seems that not many of them are leaving the Steam site to see what is going on over here. The web site is clearly listed at the top of your description section. Perhaps a note come by and visit and "find out more" or to "donate" to encourage continued development.

I'm scared of using the paypal donate button. They've been known to freeze peoples accounts (AKA robbing them blind) for using it. Zomboid had that problem, and many others have too.

Isn't their deal about "games" and pre-order/alpha stuff that there is no physical product or something?

Just sell fortune cookies or something that is a real in their eyes, and send it through the post so it costs you pennies, and you can just use the funds from your internet "bake sale" for Kenshi.

If Paypal is totally out the window is there a way for us to get money to you personally? i mean there has to be a way for us as consumers, who WANT to give you money to make a product to do so.

Yeah, some other guy donated to you. not that he seems to be active on the forums much (or maybe I just can't see those subforums :( )
You must have a way somewhere. Even if you set a minimum donation of a few pounds (say....5?) to stop you from having to go through the effort of processing every single crappy little donation. It could be well worth your effort.

hey chris, there are a few ways around paypals...issues...

i used to run a successful minecraft server and we were starting to get issues with donations, so we switched over to micro transactions for things in game (non game breaking ones) you could do a similar thing. like killingtree said about the fortune cookies. the fundraising event you did, with rewards for people who donated a certain amount, using that might be a good idea. if/when i get some cash i would love to donate and be able to get an npc named after me.

Chris HAD one, not at www.kickstarter.com but in other website, and IT FAILED, chris got like 4.6k out of 40k, that was something bad, but he used those 4.6k to hire an artist. :geek:

IMHO an actual kickstarter.com page should be created and the link posted on the Steam Greenlight page. Would attract a good number of people since this game is one of the highest ranking games I have seen votewise. I already purchased the alpha, but would be willing to pony up a little more for no other reason than to see this completed sooner than later :)

Trying my best to get some community funding going via merchandising, i've actually got 1 Kenshi T-shirts that I just need to take pictures of, and post them on the merchandising thread..

B-u-t... I'm also waiting for a quote 2 posters and one hat...

Both posters are diffrent, and the hat just has a KENSHI logo stitched onto it.. those need pictures taken too,

ANNNDD then, I need chris's approval to sell them on the forums, for a lil'money to donate too him.

Which doesn't avoid the issue that chris doesn't want to deal with donations. So you will just end up making money off his idea. Which may be illegal. I would seriously PM him and wait for a response before you do anything. Once the whole money flow is sorted (if he decides to go that route) then you should begin to make some prints and put photos up and think about selling.

Something similar is happening over at the Castle Story page. Paypal is giving them until the 11th to provide account setup for those who supported the Kickstarter via Paypal.
