Will the next update be easier to load? I'll try doing the other demo again today but will this one be easier or the same to download and play

The same. If you have the first demo then download will be smaller. The big zip file is the same.

Cool. I eagerly await it. Also, thanks for not getting all crazy and defensive like some devs do. Actually it's kind of silly to thank you for having a basic level of maturity, but I just wanted to make sure you know it's appreciated. :)

Of course! Chris's awesome maturity is surpassed only by his modesty and his strength!

And his fluffiness.

Anyway, I have returned! (just in case you didn't notice)

Not enough time to check out the current release yet, but hopefully this weekend. I'm getting prepped for college, so been busy as all hell. Sorry for abandoning you for a while there.

Well i could say i was keeping an eye on the game for quite some time, and the thing is i couldn't make an idea with the early demo about the game due to crashes and poor frame (which may have been my fault).

I would gladly deliver 5 euro for the game, but i would really want to taste a somewhat solid gameplay before diving into buying it. I just had the feeling it's being rushed to be locked and sold, my advice would have been to keep it open for some more time OR having a good demo run alongside with the full version (buyable)

Indeed thats what I'm working on now, getting a solid and basic gameplay. Thats also why I haven't set any new release dates, its ready when its ready.

When I do finally make an official release, it will be an unlockable thing, so you can try out the game for free up to a certain level before you buy.

How are the payment options gonna be again? Will it be paypal? Or the Amazon paying system? Or a entirely different way? Also, what happens if we are American and can't pay in Euros? Can we pay the exchange rate of 5 Euros to $45300 American Dollars($6.50)?

I'll use Paypal for now I think. It will automatically convert currency so don't worry about that.

I would strongly advise against an unlockable version of the full game. I've had a bit of *ahem* experience in using cracks for games to really try them out before I buy them. (I DO buy them, I just like to really see if it's worth it, first) and 99% of the time, unlockable full versions are the simplest cracks to make/use. You need to not even have the data in the program in the trial version to go beyond the limited play. If the code is even in the program, but locked away, someone will find a way to break into it. Yes, piracy may happen with your game even if you don't run it this way, but it's MUCH more likely and will be more common if you run it this way.

Good point, although I will have the advantage of regular updates so they will have to constantly re-crack the game.

Trust me, I've known people who crack games and I've seen how quickly games can be cracked, especially by someone who's already cracked a previous version. Running a cracked version basically means waiting a matter of hours for an updated crack. That's not a long time, even if you were to update as much as once a month.

Zephyr, there are always going to be cracks if the game becomes popular enough. Trying to fight piracy is a waste of time, and annoying legit customers with annoying things is just dumb.

Look at Taleworlds, M&B has an unlockable trial and I quite like it, it's convenient and hassle-free, just paste in your key and you're good to go. Sure, it's easily cracked, but what game isn't? Even Ubisoft's utterly ridiculous protection scheme (Which caused me to swear off their games) has been bypassed, granted that took a couple months.

To sum it up, even the best protection will only buy you a couple months at most. It will also annoy your customers/potential customers and quite possibly lose you sales.

Indeed. Nowadays someone can just as easily choose to pirate or buy a game and the choice often comes down to the person's own morals. Fighting piracy is best done by treating your customers with respect.

Lol, there's a difference between fighting piracy and avoiding making it too convenient, Jehdin.

Yes, building a respecting customer base is the best weapon against piracy, but there are ways to avoid making it too easy to pirate your game without making it inconvenient for paying customers.

I didn't mean for Chris to go nuts, implimenting all kinds of anti-piracy tactics that make the game more frustrating for the legit customer, just avoid the things that make it the easiest.

Yes, it only buys time, but that time can increase the ratio of paying customers to pirates, even if only by a little, which means more money for Chris.

EDIT:

Just for kicks, I thought I'd throw in an analogy. Fighting piracy is like fighting a bear. You don't have to outrun the bear, you just have to outrun the guy next to you and hope the bear goes after him.

That analogy is awesome, I reckon it could be applied to anything.
