I just wanna point out something

I don't think the Top Seller tab on Steam goes back to forever; for example, during weekend sales, you'll see the discounted games in the top 5 only to go back to 50th place or so the next week.
I don't have the algorithm, so in a nutshell I can only say the top sellers list works with date. The longer a game is on there without selling, the lower it is in the top 100.

Yeah, I noticed the very next day it wasn't on there, so I felt dumb :/

I thought it was more about "speed" than total amount too.

A game that sells 10 copies per hour will be above one that sells 8 per hour even if that last one sold 10100111001 copies last week.
