Well I would firstly like to introduce myself. My name is Arron, im 19 from the UK and I was recommended this game by my friend. So far im loving it and cant wait to see it grow in the future.

Here are my few questions:
1. How does the health system actually work? I had some people with negative blood and still coming back. Also how do you fixed arms, legs and others parts? I tried fully healing a squad member only to see he still limped.
2. How do I increase my squad members attack skill? Im getting defeated all the time and would like some advice, maybe a number I can see and reference ?

Thanks for reading :)

Hello and welcome to Kenshi forums.

1: To have less than 0 blood doesn t mena death, it also confused me in the begin, but you need less blood than that, i just know -75 is certain death, and sometimes death may ocur with less than that. And to fix limps you need the splinter kit if i am not wrong, not sure this part as well.

2: You need to have them attack, a good way to do it is using training dummies, it shows th prgress betwee lvls idk if you take that a good reference, at least for train porposes, if you have them on defensive to block always, they will not develope any attack skill at all.

Hope was any help :D.

Wow, thanks for the speedy reply and welcome :P
Your reply did help as I do understand it a little better now, making sure it wasn't a bug :P
I do have one more question, all 4 of my squad are unconsious and are slowly regaining blood. The other negative numbers arent budging. Are they dead or do I have to wait a long time?
Thanks :P

normaly takes about 2-3 minutes (aprox 1/2 hour to 1 hour game time) only time they die is if there head is at 0%, lost a few people that way

Welcome aboard! And, yeah, the health system is confusing at first, though it made a lot of sense to me after I thought about it for a while.

If a squad member dies, their portrait will cease to be displayed in your squad selection window at the bottom of the screen. It sounds like they're just roughed up.

Here's my understanding of the health mechanics, though anyone else feel free to correct me if this isn't accurate. At a value of 0 for blood, head, chest, or stomach, a character is knocked unconscious. At a value of around -75 for blood (this one doesn't seem set in stone) or -100 for head, chest or stomach, a character is dead.

When arms or legs hit 0, they're unusable until healed up, meaning that an arm is dangling at your side, or a leg is being dragged behind a limping person. Chris (the developer) has mentioned that he may eventually make limbs become severed at -100, but this is currently not implemented.

As far as using the first aid kits with the medic skill, these first aid kits stop you from bleeding and patch up the portion of the bar shown in red (if part of the bar is red, it means it will regenerate pretty slowly). Even patched up damage will have to regenerate over time, though, so healing someone won't necessarily make them ready to fight again immediately.

If you want to regenerate more quickly, you can have a conscious squad member pick up an unconscious squad member (select the conscious squaddie, right-click the unconscious one, and choose "pick up"), and carry him to a bed. Any wounded party member, conscious or unconscious, recovers MUCH more quickly in bed than from standing around after being patched up.

Wow, that's a wall of text. Anyway, if you actually read all that, I hope you found some useful info.

I read it all :) Again thanks for the welcome.
Its nice to see you took the time to write that wall of text so the least I can do is read it :P Anyway, it did come in handy quite a bit. Since playing last night I think I have a little better understanding of the health mechanics although I dont understand them fully. I think its a matter of playing the game and learning over time.
Thanks :)

Not quite correct I'm afraid. Red wounds on the health bar (or grave wounds as I call them) don't simply slow regeneration. Grave wounds of a large enough size will slowly expand, converting some of the black, lesser wounds, into grave wounds until properly treated with first aid. Grave wounds will actually cause parts to constantly lose health if they are large enough, not just slow regen.

Yellow wounds are treated wounds from first aid which will heal up more quickly, but don't give you the health back just for bandaging. They will stop any negative growth of red wounds. Also: under a certain health value, limbs will become impaired. I think its between 30 and 50 health for legs that will cause a limp.

Ah, I had never noticed grave wounds getting worse over time, since I'm usually pretty quick to heal up after each fight. Thanks for pointing that out.

Same here.

I had even a probem and i wnat to sak here as we talking in healththe black part of the health, stun damage, which heals alone, or something like this, is it the lsat to heal, or if there is exemple, a good ammount of red bar and the body part is negative, let s say chest, so that makes the character be knocked out, he will stay ko tll be patched, or the stun will heal and allow him to raise?, becuase i had a good ammount of guys like this, and none of them seem to heal, and the same happen to a single character i had, it got like that and did not got up, and no one would pass by to heal me.

If you didn t understand i can try to explain this better, because i am unsure how to explain it.

Judging by the "Help" text in-game, and my own limited observations, I think that black stun damage should regenerate on its own without needing to be healed via first aid kit.

When I had my characters fighting with fragment axes to level up their strength, I noticed they tended to knock down opponents almost completely through stun damage, and the opponents they knocked down would eventually get up on their own.
