Chris, hopefully you read this. im a big fan of your game, and eagerly await its release. but there is a lot of people waiting for at least a news update on progress on the steam forums. some are even clamouring for a refund, saying that the update is late etc. etc. for the good of the steam users and for your game sales, as people see those forum threads when they look into buying the game, can you please just start a thread on steam with a news update as to what is going on.

I think all their rage and crap is unjustified, they buy an alpha and expect it finished in a week. its like a kid whose mum has told them they are baking a cake, and the kid wont leave the vicinity of the oven, thinking it will be cooked in 3 minutes. personally I don't want you to rush the game in any way. I want this game to be fkn awesome when its done, like I said for the good of your sales, and for the good of steam customers who have bought it.

thanks buddy.
Booter.

There are many more games that gave updates even less while costing more and had a much much larger team working on them (namely D3)

You didnt Buy a game, you contributed to the funding of its making. You just get a copy of the game when its finished as a thankyou.
The alpha is so you can enjoy something until the finished result (if finished) and help to understand Chris's idea so you can provide support with ideas and bug reports.

Childish vitriol. Nobody cares.

Bump
But bump for the Mods and Higher ups for the game
Steam Forums could use your work with info and stickies on basic info and go betweens for Chris and rest of development team.
personally a few of us regs are running and helping out in the Steam Forums but think its time for officials to start helping out or delegate ones to help out there if mods here don't have the time to try and run both.

Dankies

I don't like the steam community. Sorry if it sounds offending but they just talk stuff without proper knowledge like airheads and whining all the time.

I've waited years for a game like this. There several more alpha games under my radar which I'm waiting patiently for their completion. Some are in an even worse state of development due to the part that the developer is facing a life crisis. I don't mind if there's only one update a year. The only deciding factor for me to buy this game is this statement by Chriss at indiegogo:
I will still finish this game even if I don't get a penny from this. It will just take me a lot longer and the final quality won't be as good without the help from professional artists.

I can't guarantee that the game will be finished quickly, or by a certain deadline, but I guarantee that it will be finished, and it will be done well.
For those who are new here and haven't seen it, check it yourself at this website of Chriss failed indiegogo funding campaign...

So please be nice, keep up the good discussion and contributing useful ideas. Stop bothering the developer. The more time they've wasted on answering questions and updates, the less time they've got to make a complete quality game. I'll be praying for Chris and his team to have good fortunes and a long life, at least as long as it takes to finish this game...and also the moderators here too...

I guess this "steam community problem" is mostly caused by AAA game company spoiling, and others just the occasional trolers, others are just dumb or lazy, didn t really want to offend but those are the words, there is plenty of info in the main site or other sites but they don t research and then whine about that they dunno like you said, i say this but i had done most research some like month after when i really started to play the game  , but i didn t use the forums anyway.

I am a bit on the same line as you tho, the game genders + that line sold me, the only indie game and alpha got ever till now.

I pitty those who try to help mostly there, they know who they are, it s good to help but some people just don t learn or don t want to, so let the steam forums in a nutshell and protect the holy pastry.

Oh dear...AAA, that term always ruin my day. The financial world classification that only view the profitability of a company. How much golden eggs they could squeeze out of a fowl before it's dead and then cook it for dinner. It creates a sort of phobia in me to visit places that was once prosperous but now just empty buildings...that sad feeling you get when you are walking past a familliar street but all the old shops already went out of business or replaced with something else.

Want to see a street of dead dreams? Ever heard of Ctulhu Returns mmo? Used to play it but then over the years got busy and distracted and when I returned everything wasn't the same as it used to be...not sure if they're reincarnated in other games and just abandoned the project...

Thankfully, there is a precedence of fail that exposes all the nonsense on the steam forums as nonsense. Kenshi in its alpha is still better quality then Orion Dino beatdown/horde/failboat. I am pretty sure people see the quality of the game, Valve sees the hours we have played, and everyone else with a brain knows the game will be good when finished.

It is a sad day for gaming when just one guy can out do AAA publishers with quality, game play, and mechanics. Also, everyone knows gamers are a whiny spoiled bunch. Watch jimquestion on the escapist and find out what i mean.

Even though Steam is full of whiny kiddos, it`s still one of the main Kenshi`s distribution channels and as such it should be maintained appropriately. Steam forums need moderation ASAP. Some stickies with FAQ, Known bugs info and such are highly needed.

A lot of steam hate here. Steam is probably responsible for a huge portion of the funding of Kenshi. I know that I first found Kenshi via steam greenlight. To those that are simply saying "everyone on steam is an idiot, or talks crap without knowing anything", I just want to point out the irony of you assuming such things. The vocal minority is always the most visible in any community. That includes yourselves, as well as those on steam.

When someone says something like "i dont like the steam community" i have to wonder what exactly they mean like that. Similar to saying "i dont like the reddit community" or "i dont like the internet community" its a largely useless statement. Do they not like me, because i use steam and talk with a lot of through it? Do they not like specifically the kenshi steam forum users? Is it steam forum users in general they dont like?

I find it more helpful to criticize an attitude rather than a "community". it does take more effort, but that damn kenshi official forum community sucks too much to make that effort i guess.
