First of all, the game looks like it has a potential to be an amazing game but I'm hesitant if I should buy it now, or wait for a few more massive updates.

I'm the type of person who rarely buys games, probably once or twice a year. It is not about the price but about investment and how much entertainment value it brings me. the questions start now;

In it's current state, how much is there to do?

is the feature list on steam fully realized or is there things missing?

I know this game is in Alpha currently, but almost all Youtube videos(that are long) have a few bugs, like enemies glitching in one place and not being able to move, and what not, so I'm worried that it would ruin my experience.

Still, no one can deny Chris's accomplishment and it is still going strong. Eventually I'll buy this game but I don't know if i should wait a few months(a year) or buy it now. Again, the price is not a problem so I don't mind waiting longer and paying more later on.

Just a few suggestions from people who have played it(are playing it)

Cheers

I can't comment on what is stated on Steam, but there are tons of things to do in this game RIGHT NOW.

I have put over 25 hours into a campaign, and several hours into shorter ones. My main campaign had a decent sized town, full squad, and I had crafted the best weapons at the time and built most of the buildings. I still had so much more building and expansion that I could've done. It also takes much time and effort to get your squad skilled up in different areas by fighting, working, crafting, etc...

There are multiple ways to approach the game as well. You can play aggressive or passive, move around or build your own city, capture bandits or be bandits, etc...

I don't buy many games either and this was definitely worth the money. I started a new game today after the update and I am impressed so far.

Quicksave your main campaign often and you can avoid any bugs/crashes.

As a buyer, I'll give my opinion and then a more generalized objective view. Most people who post on these sort of forums obviously have a biased view towards the game. Hopefully, I can give you some problems I have with the game to help you decide.

I'll be honest, it's just not all that interesting at this current state. I played...oh...10 hours and got bored (on the previous version, but there hasn't been much longevity added in the newest update). Leveling from the start of the game is tedious at best without modding the game, since the only way to gain your combat levels is to pull groups to the city guards for them to murder while you poke at the flanks. Trading is generally frustrating without knowing what towns have trading posts. And, over all, I wish I had more control over the combat flow of at least my personal character (aggressiveness, maybe combat styles, engagement range). And, this is really just my opinion, but many of the models are god awful.

But, that's only it's current state. I see a great deal of potential. In the current game, you can make settlements that make food/supplies and smith weapons. This process is underway and already looking fairly interesting. You post guards for this settlement, set up production chains, ect. The combat, despite the lack of variety, is well on the way to being quite good, though I do hope it is heavily improved as the game progresses. Also, while the current customization options are very limited, it should get more and more varied, and more interesting. (I'll probably start playing again when women are available.)

If you want to get the most out of it, edit the configuration files of the game to add loner bandits, ect, so you can progress in combat ability in a more entertaining way than the usual beginning. When the mod tools are more fleshed out, the game will be far better than its current state, but, overall, there is still a lot to do if you can ignore a, currently, very unpolished experience. I would probably recommend it, but it doesn't get nearly the recommendation that Kerbal Space Program or, staying in the general genre of the experience, MnB Warband gets.

Just my 2 cents. I don't post on these forums much, so I hope I don't get attacked by a lynch mob or anything.

The game has a demo in the main site as well if you want to test first by yourself, no one better than yourself to say what you think about the game.
