Hi,
first of all i want to make clear that i do not dislike the new patch, i just want to give my perspective on some of its features and hope to find some answers.

What i liked about the game before the last patch came out was, that i was able to find a cool outfit for my main character. I am one of those persons who do not value stats over looks especially when the best clothing looks ugly and/or the coolest looking clothes have medium to low stats.

I really liked the look of the old half pants (gray) together with the wooden sandals (and i was realy happy to find out that there are even hardened versions of the them [with better stats but looked the same]). For the top armor i used the starter Gi most of the time, later i switched to the medic armor because it was not too bulky either.

In general i do not liked the way how boots looked and how they do not really fit well with every kind of long pants.

Then i was really excited about the new patch, and yesterday i sold every piece of cloth i had and re-imported my squad. But the first thing i noticed after buying a pair of half pants was, that they look not only uglier but the worst thing was that they seems to glitch in a way that the underpants of the character could be seen. The next thing is basically a question: Are there still non bulky armor pieces like the medic armor or are they all like the Samurai armor?

Another thing which bugs me is the variation of proportions of the NPCs, they vary way to much i think, because of there are a lot of really tiny and really large people around this scares me a bit.

And i think there should be a clear average of proportions in the character editor, not only that the randomize option seems to only change from one really disproportionate monster from the scariest horror movie to another, i find it really hard to create a character which does not looks clearly larger or smaller or in another way disproportionate compared to the other people, after working on it about 10 minutes in the editor.

As i said i would propose the following things:
- NPC proportions should be a little bit more average or less randomized
- there should be an easy way to compare your character with others, maybe a option to set everything to average (maybe this is done by moving every slider to the center?)

Thanks for your attention
i really like the game though

Well as you may already know the "proportions" of the NPCs is a bug, and as far as the clothing goes i think it is a tad bit ludicrous to expect much as far as balancing Stats to aesthetics due to the fact that this is an EARLY build of the game, all of that will be addressed later, what Chris needs to worry about now is things like implementing the foundations of all the mechanics that will be in the game, and that is what he is doing.

the proportion of NPCs is a bug ? THANKS GOD !

I though the game had gone totally retard on this point, just like Aion or some crap like that.
Seriously i'm released that there will be a fix to put some coherence in this mess ^^

Is it wrong that I kind of like the proportions? Reminds me of Zeno Clash. >_>

Doesn t bother me either, i think funny, tho is weird when you see a midget guard or skinny, as they would most likely choose people which impose respect simply by the look, "Behold my size, you shall behave."

I like the variation and proportions. If it has to change, then what I'd like to see is certain proportions be randomized together on npcs. So like if height is at the minimum, it will only rarely put arm bulk, leg length, and/or neck length at maximum. Sorta like guiding the randomizer into race/bodytype categories.

But anyway, I do like the NPC variation and proportions. Dunno 'bout you, but I always love seeing a tiny gnome wielding a huge two-hander.

... don't take that in a sexual way.

I'm all for different kinds of proportions for people IG, but I prefer when there's not so much differences. I'm also all for some diformed guys, but not as much as there currently is :/

In general i like variations too, but this is to much i think. Its basicaly the standard deviation that is not correct, its simply not fiting to the Gaussian distribution of human proportions. Which means the number of "very" small and "very" large peoples you as player are confronted with is to high.
And it seems that things like leg lenght and arm lenght are not restricted by overall body lenght, this results in these real scary horror movie like proportions (tiny but arms longer than the legs).
Which, and that is only my problem and not an appropriate reason for the dev to change anything, keeps me from playing in the moment.

However the game needs a clear average to check your proportions against, because i want to decide if i want to play a large or a short person, without (correct) relations there is no such thing like large or short (or above or below average).

at least the randomizer in the editor should create realistic proportions.

Actually, arm length isn't an independent option. It adjusts with the overall height slider, if it adjusts at all. And yeah having some set templates, specifying the range for the random values each customize item can fall into, that characters can fall into might help. And then on occasion have a NPC that doesn't fit into the template and can then have all features randomized within maximum boundaries, instead of any template boundaries.
