You cannot dual-wield as of yet. Don't know if it's intended for the future either.
It should be though, I would love to dual-wield short katana.

Maybe because there are no one-handed weapons implemented that I know of?SynysterOne wrote:You cannot dual-wield as of yet. Don't know if it's intended for the future either.

i think it's more a problem of finding animations for dual wieldingGraeywulf wrote:Maybe because there are no one-handed weapons implemented that I know of?SynysterOne wrote:You cannot dual-wield as of yet. Don't know if it's intended for the future either.

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Or the fact that you would need a separate code for dual-wielding. <_<

at least chris is doing that. In one or two month if everything goes well, the game will be solid and smooth and we should see the first new small features appearing then

Less than that, the first new small features you are talking about are in the game already, just that Chris hasn't activated/finished them.
So within the week, when we get to where we can play without crashing for a couple of hours we'll probably see the new features. ^_^
Ah...This is my personal opinion and in no way reflects what will actually happen.(unless people lied when they told me the world didn't revolve around me)

no worries it doesn't revolve around you (even less when it comes to KenshiSynysterOne wrote:(unless people lied when they told me the world didn't revolve around me)
first are bugs as said Chris. I think it will probably take some more time, but I like the way he thinks. Get a solid game first, polished to some extend and then add new features ... like dual-wielding (to get back to the topicChris wrote:I'm going to spend probably this whole month focusing on bugs and crashes and getting the game really solid. After that I will start adding smaller features. The first I plan to add are:
Better dialog system leading to jobs, eg working as a caravan guard or a mercenary
Improvements to the AI, bug fixes to combat. Things like AI medics to heal their squad, passing empire patrols might decide to heal you etc.
Improvements to controls, usability. Making everything smooth and easy to use.
So nothing big will be added in the next month or 2, but it will become more solid and game-like, and hopefully more fun.

Actually, I just played for a couple of hours without a crash. So I think most of the non-hardware related crashes have been patched up. Besides the bloated loading times, the game is pretty stable for me right now.SynysterOne wrote:So within the week, when we get to where we can play without crashing for a couple of hours we'll probably see the new features. ^_^
I had one crash last night, but wasn't too dramatic.
Back on topic, what actually is the Weapon 1 and Weapon 2 slots for?
And as stated above (which i think is maybe just due to lack of field validation) you can place 2 weapons in Weapon Slot 1. I think the field is large to accomodate large weapons that take up more than the 1x5 squares but isn't validating at the moment if you have more than one weapon tile placed there.
I have got a katana in Weapon Slot 1 and another katana in Weapon Slot 2.
Which slot does it actually use for attacks?
I can see one weapon in his hand, and a second on his back, but have no idea which slot he is attacking with as the default new character had a weapon in Weapon Slot 2 (rusty katana) and Weapon Slot 1 was empty.
Main reason I ask is I have a 7.8 katana and a 5.2 katana. Clearly I want the higher damage one to be used.
