I bought Kenshi not too long ago, maybe a year, and at the time I remember it being too buggy for me to enjoy. I rebooted it again recently and have discovered that I cannot stop playing it. Thus spawned my first successful, self-sufficient community of desert samurai. On my first run-through of Kenshi I made a character who started in the middle of nowhere (I think it was near Clownsteady?) and I ended up forgetting about him. My next start came after I revisited Kenshi this year.
I played for 20+ hours over a span of three days (yay insomnia) and I ended up with a small community of light-armored, strawhat-obsessed samurai who set up just outside of Capan on one of the easily walled-off mesas. The faction took on an inspiration from the random name given to my character, Gardener, and started making most of their money from farming. This wasn't as profitable though, so I switched to weapon-making and made a huge fortune. After buying some toys and playing around with building, I took the entire clan on run all around the desert, and finally returned. I returned to my little town and took some good screens, then decided it was time to start a new clan!
I gave most of my favorite characters their own personal backstories, but I won't bore you with them yet.
The final screens!
Seeing as this is my first post, I'd also like to introduce myself; My name is Chris, I am in the process of figuring out what I want to do in college (probably something with art) and I spend a lot of time writing, gaming and drawing.
This is a great game and I can't wait to see what it develops into upon its release!
My first experience with Kenshi

Sounds a bit more constructive than my first experience. But then again you rookies have so many toys to play with now
.
I do fondly recall my days with Wanderer and Sword for Hire hacking up the desert as a dynamic duo.

You should try installing some character mods and see how long you last.

Depends on whether or not I'll have an Irish Spaniard companion.

Irish enough to where he can't be a Spaniard, but still is.
Very cool story & screen shots, Chris

Thanks! Still working on my next playthrough. Anxious to start playing on the new world. Can't wait to replay this same sort of clan with animals and such too
