Just those screenshots on the front page forced me to make a hype post about it.

Can't wait to see the whole world!

Wow it's been a long time since I touched this game, or even posted at these forums.
Anyways...
I was honestly stunned when I saw the screenshots, the effort put into making vegetation is really paying off (I haven't been around so I don't actually know how much effort was put into the vegetation). Knowing that the game isn't just going to be a vast, empty desert is pretty exciting, it's amazing how much a bit of green can add to the landscapes. It's done in such a way that it's interesting to look at and yet retains the post-apocalyptic feel that this game seems to be about.

I mean, look at this. It's gorgeous. Imagine that image without anything in the foreground and it's just not the same.

Now the question is, how will it affect gameplay, and how much pressure will it put on your system?

(By the way, I'm downloading the new version of the game now, the last one I played was version 0.4 or something along those lines.)

Okay, I saw this thread and thought you guys were just too hyped, or fanboy blinded, or had low standards. So I went to check out the front page just to see how good it was.

HOLY ****! IT LOOKS AMAZING! The texture detail! The variance in flora, the covariance in elevation changes! I can't wait!

Edit: censored a swear word. Sorry, wasn't thinking.

I would love to know how they're using World Machine. Are they doing this procedurally?

And I would love to know more about exporting worlds, splatmaps, bitmaps, all that stuff. I find the program super confusing.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
