Hmm. It's not bad, but I think Butta has a point about it seeming too much like graffiti. It's...it's very stylized. That's not always a bad thing, but it may give the wrong impression of the game.

Better than the generic fonts with bloody erosion, to be sure, but it maaaaaaay need a bit more work.

Also: WhY aRe ThE H AnD E CapItALizEd WheN THe n aND i ARE nOT?

Just a pet peeve of mine :P

Double Edit: Here's something terrible I mocked up that still looks rather raw without quite looking "edgy" perhaps. It needs work of course, the "E" needs to line up with the the two "K" lines close to it, the "S" needs to be angled correctly, and the "H" and "I" simply need redone completely, but still, it's toned down a tad.

Hmm I think the K needs to be taller. And maybe replace the vertical bar of it with one of the swords in the game? You could even have it ending in a pool of blood. As far as capitalization goes, I think the lower case is is fine, but that might just be because its next to a small K.

Edit: the weapon replacement could also work with the i, but I wouldn't replace both.

Graffiti or not, its still better than a Microsoft font style.

Major creativity points for the uniqueness. Even more if you can create an entire font in the future. :D

Not so much love for it so far, thanks for the feedback everyone. Brownie points to EternalAmbiguity for the sketch :D

Do let me know if it grows on any of you (I'm also curious if the web design grew on anybody in the end). Anyway, back to the juicy stuff - Oli's new frontier prison (also here http://lofigames.com/dev-blog-3-frontier-prison/)

Thanks for the wonderful updates. 1000x better than being in the dark. I always preferred the new web design over the old one, so no change here.

Besides that, the outpost looks AWESOME! I was a bit sceptical last week, but Olli did a great job. Also the whole lighting and map in the background looks amazing!

The new logo is definitely an improvement in my eyes, A lot less simple, more stile sleeker, rougher and just more modern/professional. i like it a lot!

Still having a character with a straw hat crouching wouldn't hurt though.

Definitely. Unique fonts are awesome.

The outpost looks pretty neat. I like the canvas "umbrellas," gives it a cool effect.

And I'd like to have a race of zoomorphic (the reverse of anthropomorphic) catgirls (of course with men and elders too) take refuge on earth and even intermarry with the locals. But that doesn't mean it's going to happen. At least not until they get to a point where all the devs are working on small bug fixes.

I like your thinking, Butta. How did I not think of that before? ;p

Here's Otto's concept of another new race called the Stenn. Bone people (now called Shek) will be in the next update and Otto's started work on modelling the Hive People, which you will have seen concept art for already at some point. I'll try and get some more info up either tomorrow or Monday.
