So, I've recently bought the game and it's pretty great, seems to have a lot of potential, however, the greatest issue I've faced thus far is RIDICULOUSLY low FPS.

What gives? My hardware should be good enough to handle it easily, seeing as I can easily run things like the witcher 3 on max settings with at least 40-50 FPS.

Is there a way to handle this? Since the FPS is usually bad at around 15-20 at most, but truly abysmal('bout 5-9) whenever I approach a settlement. I've tried tinkering with view range sliders and graphics options, but nothing seems to change things.

Thanks!

game is still in Development and not optimized like Witcher 3 is.

For better performance, lower or disable shadows, turn off water reflections. keep NPC squad sizes at default or lower.

Performance will be a issue for a while until the game is optimized.

Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

I see. I'll try tweaking things around as much as possible then.

Thanks!

Its also worth noting that kenshi usually ends up being CPU bound rather than GPU bound. This means even if you have the best gpu in the world but a lesser CPU, youll still get bad fps, whereas maybe a game like witcher 3 requires very little from the cpu but eats graphics cards alive.

Games with tons of characters on the screen at once and lots of little calculations tend to be cpu bound, and that fits kenshi's definition really well.
