Anyway, staying on topic here means writing about steam in a manner related to kenshi. If you want to play kenshi on steam, you can say so, if you don't, you can write it down. BUT if you want to start arguing about whether Steam is good or not, or if what someone wrote is bullshit or not, open a new topic in the OFFTOPIC subforum with the title 'STEAM yea or nay', that's why that forum is there.

I'll delete anymore of this after my post without delay, diplomacy, doubt, emotion
Well, in that regard, it would help Kenshi's sales a good deal by having it on steam. Just don't let steam change the product. And if it does, continue to offer the DRM Free client. And offer it on multiple venues.

As for steam having control over a games content. I don't believe that is true. The developer would be responsible for updating their own client and providing steam with the updates to distribute.

that's way better. It's on topic, diplomatically correct and not aggressive (hidden or not hidden).
Hats Off!

(you can still make a topic about steam in the offtopic to went your anger or love for it  )

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

Fine mod'ing mr 1337.

If and when the game ends up on steam, nothing will change. There will still be a standalone version, and I will do my best to make sure that steam uses my key system so all keys are universally valid.

In response to Steam cutting into profits vs. bonus profits from exposure:

I'm sure the pros and cons are considered by devs when they decide whether or not to apply for Steam inclusion. The difference is usually: extra attention and more sales = more profits from higher sale volume, versus higher profits PER sale but *possibly* lower number of sales total. Either one has potential drawbacks, especially if there's more to the contract with Steam than simply taking a cut of sales.

That said, I'm okay with it being on or off Steam... assuming I can get it to work on Desura.
