I've been looking over some of the articles about the game's progression and art and such and I've actually come to the paranoia that I might not be able to play it. My laptop isn't terribly low-spec, but it's not exactly top of the line, either. Being an indy game, I'd imagine Kenshi won't be made to target only top-end newer systems, but I'm worried it may still be beyond my system.
I don't know if you'd even be able to tell me the odds of my ability to play it or not, but I'll post some basic specs below and hopefully someone can give me some kind of outlook.
AMD Dual Core 2.0 ghz
3 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 8800M (256 dedicated, up to 1100 shared VRAM)
Windows Vista Home Premium
3 GB Page File + 4 GB Flash Drive on Readyboost
Judging by the map size and all that, I'm thinking ram might be an issue, depending on how much of the map is cached at once, but I'm thinking the biggest issue might be processor for all the ai controlling all the things going on at once.
Game looks awesome...maybe too awesome...

Are you serious? That's awesome. Been a while since I've met a gamer (or game-maker, for that matter) with a worse rig than mine.
