So where do we stand in the development of Kenshi?

Been awhile since we've had any big overhead info dump about whats going on with kenshi. We've had a number of patches come out recently, new world, we're in beta, some luxury items have been added(exm: unarmed combat, recycled resources etc).

But where are we really with Kenshi? Is there anything you guys can/are willing to share on whats going on and what the plans for the future are? Besides "we're working on the map and fixing bugs"(genuine question, not trying to be snarky)

I recall the goal for release being early 2017, but that doesn't seem to be all that likely anymore. is there a new estimate? Anything on why this happened?

Just being curious and wondering what direction this amazing game is going.

Well, I agree with you that I do not think this game will be finished this year. If you want to see a progress report of sorts check this page.

I'm aware of the trello page and check it every now and then when I visit these forums as well. Guess i forgot to mention that.

But even there things seem to be slowing down and doesn't show a whole lot of progress. Many of the cards containing (imo) fairly minor items being addressed or worked on. And also a lot of cards which have been there for many many months already.

They do a TON of things that are never posted on the Trello page. So it isn't really an accurate representation of activity.

Far as I can tell, its main use seems to be for things they are not going to do immediately. Sort of a "do not forget this" list. Most map related work is never mentioned on there, and quite a bit of dialog stuff is never even vaguely mentioned. Not to mention that many systems and features were never posted there as well.

Thats definitely an exaggeration. I'v always been on experimental and pretty much everything that's been done or added has always shown up there in one of the cards. I also don't agree that it's a "do not forget this" list" as just looking at it now it contains plenty of major gameplay aspects and other items they've been working on for some time.

So yes it is(or should be) an accurate representation of what they're working on/still need to do. But I was referring to the list on the on the far right, which is called 'Activity' when i said things seemed to be slowing down. progress reports have also been silent since September 22, 2016.

I'm well aware that communication has never been a very strong point of Lo-Fi games, which is why i'm here bringing it up in the hopes that they might notice it and go "oh right!".

They never post pretty much anything related map development on there. Many dialog things have been done and added without a simple mention. Stuff like the Weapon overhaul, Martial Arts, and the no lighting penalties were not mentioned. Not to mention the countless bugs that get fixed without mention. And these are just off the top of my head.

I can't speak for what they actually use it for, that was just speculation. But it is a fact that a lot of things never see the Trello page.
