Faction relations

has anyone noticed any factions other than bandits fighting eachother in the latest version? it seems like the holy paladins and united cities have made friends, same with the imperials and traders.
In fact, i was in a united cities town and some holy paladins rushed me, the united cities guys actually attacked me for being attacked in their town.
